7 Reasons Why Home Buyers Choose Denver
Sitting a mile-high, with the beautiful, often snow-capped Rocky Mountains in the distance, the city of Denver rests. It’s not too restful, though, as more and more people across the nation fall in love with it each year, moving their family and possessions to settle in. It doesn’t take long for new home buyers to realize that Denver offers even more than they thought. It is a city full of attractions and excitement that’s bolstered by strong schools, a growing economy, and available jobs.
While we’ve listed 7 reasons for why home buyers are choosing Denver, know that each one of these reasons is barely scratching the surface, for the family and single resident alike.
Unemployment rates are down in the United States, and Denver is no exception to the trend. It was recently named sixth for “Best Places for Business and Careers” by Forbes Magazine. Some of your favorite fast food restaurants were started and remain headquartered in Denver, like Chipotle, Noodles and Company, and Smashburger. Other large companies that provide a high number of jobs are Kaiser Permanente, Comcast, United Airlines, Frontier Airlines, the government, and surrounding universities.
Jobs may be up across the nation, but the economy is not. Denver, however, is one of the few states that can boast a growing economy. According to the Denver Business Journal and reports from local business schools, Denver is poised to have 1.8% growth in 2018, and jobs across all industries should experience this growth. While 1.8% is lower than the last two years, it’s still enough growth to cause other states a bit of jealousy.
Worried about the quality of education available in Denver proper? The Denver County Public School District allows you to choose which school you would like your child to attend, regardless of neighborhood. This choice allows you to find the perfect fit. In general, though, Denver County Public School District has a diverse student body and reports only a 4.6% dropout rate. Denver also has a large showing of charter schools.
There are a lot of opportunities for higher education for those looking to expand their horizons. Schools like the University of Denver and the University of Colorado Denver offer many recognized programs.
Denver has a serious side, but there’s plenty of fun to be had! Attractions like the Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and Children’s Museum of Denver will keep your kids dragging you back into the city center. You’ll be happy to accompany too, especially to re experience the thrills at Elitch Gardens and Water Park.
Sports and Entertainment
Denver is home to the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies with games that are a riot to attend! If you enjoy participating in sports and exercise more than watching, Denver has great fly-fishing, skiing and snowboarding at resorts close by, and hiking trails in beautiful locations like Red Rocks. The Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Bluebird Theater are magical and renowned venues for live music, too.
Shopping and Food
Lastly, Denver will never leave you wanting. You can enjoy everything you need at shopping centers such as the outdoor 16th Street Mall, Cherry Creek, and Antique Row. The Denver Union Station hosts unique shops and food vendors from locals. There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from throughout the city, and Denver is known for its local breweries, and now distilleries.
It’s easy to see why home buyers are flocking to Denver, making the mile-high city a place to stay! Settle in the city and be a part of the success and excitement.
